Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes: On April 2, 2008, ACE Aviation Holdings Inc. (TSX:ACE.B) announced an agreement to sell 20.4 million units of Aeroplan Income Fund (TSX:AER.UN) to a group of underwriters. ACE Aviation Holdings will be removed from the S&P/TSX 60, 60 Capped and Equity 60 indices and placed in the S&P/TSX Completion and Equity Completion indices. Aeroplan Income Fund will repl

Thomson Corporation: Takeover Of Reuters Group PLC

In May 2007 the company Thomson Corporation announced a takeover offer for all outstanding shares of Reuters Group PLC. In consequence, shareholders will receive 352.50 pence cash and 0.16 Thomson Corporation shares for each Reuters Group PLC share they hold.
Regulatory Framework For Funds Of Hedge Funds In France: The AMF Amends Its General Regulation As Well As Instructions 2005-02 And 2006-02

Articles 313-54 and 411-34 of the AMF General Regulation have been amended by an executive order dated 18 March 2008, published in the Official Journal on 30 March 2008. Article 29 of AMF Instruction 2005-02 has also been modified. Further details have been added to section 4.2.2 of the specialised programme-of-operations template for funds of hedge funds (FoHFs), and Instruction 2006-02 (Annex 1) will be supplemented shortly.
PowerShares Lists Its First Ever Actively-Managed ETFs On NYSE Arca

NYSE Euronext (NYX) today announced the launch of the PowerShares first four actively-managed ETFs, including the first equity based actively-managed ETFs. As an industry leader in ETF and ETN listings and trading, such products listed on NYSE Arca represent 56% of ETF and ETN assets under management in the U.S., nearly $609 billion, the most of any exchange.

Kansas City Board Of Trade: Side-By-side Trading For Wheat Options Begins Evening Of April 13 For Trade Date April 14

As previously announced, The Kansas City Board of Trade Board of Directors has approved the addition of side-by-side trading in the hard red winter wheat options contract. A second daily electronic trading session will be added to mirror the open outcry trading hours of 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. This new daytime electronic session is in addition to the current after-hours trading session from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Friday.
NYSE Euronext Successfully Launches €750 Million Bond Issue

NYSE Euronext (NYX) today successfully launched a €750 million fixed rate 7-year bond issue in the Euro market that bears a coupon of 5.375% and was priced at a margin of 120 bps per annum over Euro mid-swaps. Proceeds from the bonds, which mature in June 2015, will be used by NYSE Euronext for general corporate purposes, including the refinancing of existing debt. The bonds will be listed on Euronext Amsterdam and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange regulated market.

Chicago Climate Exchange® And Chicago Climate Futures Exchange® Surpass 2007 Carbon Financial Instrument® Combined Volume

Chicago Climate Exchange, Inc (CCX®) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Chicago Climate Futures Exchange, LLC (CCFE®), announced yesterday that they have surpassed the combined 2007 total trading volume for Carbon Financial Instrument (CFITM) contracts with substantial growth in its carbon complex (U.S. cash, futures and options contracts). The carbon complex has shown volume growth of 280% since the same period of last year.
