The Brazilian Securities, Commodities and Futures Exchange – BM&FBOVESPA will offer, beginning on October 19, a new Direct Market Access (DMA) modality connection to its GTS (Global Trading System), the Exchange’s electronic derivatives trading platform. DMA model 3 allows clients to directly access the GTS trading platform without the technological infrastructure of a brokerage house or an authorized DMA provider. Direct Edge announced today statistical information regarding its volume for September 2009. Direct Edge reported 1.60 billion shares handled per day in September, representing a 46% year-over-year increase. Direct Edge had a matched share of 11.84%. Direct Edge’s matched market share ranked third among all U.S. equity markets, behind only the NYSE and NASDAQ.

CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced that September volume averaged 10.5 million contracts per day, down 32 percent from the near record average daily volume in September 2008, but up 3 percent from August. Total volume was 222 million contracts for September, of which 82 percent was traded electronically.
