  • Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

    Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, November 2, 2009: The shares of Kenrich-Eskay Mining Corp. (TSXVN:KRE) will trade under the new name Eskay Mining Corp. The new ticker symbol will be "ESK" and the new CUSIP number 296437 10 6. There is no consolidation of capital.

  • CBOE October Daily Volume Averages 4.6 Million Contracts - Down 6% YTD, 21% From All-Time-Record October In 2008

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today reported that trading volume during October 2009 averaged 4.6 million contracts per day, a decline of 21 percent from October 2008 when average daily volume (ADV) was 5.8 million contracts.Trading volume in October 2009 totaled 101.8 million contracts versus the record 134.2 million contracts traded in October 2008.When compared to September 2009, October total volume rose three percent, while ADV was off two percent.

    Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes: The shareholders of Petro Andina Resources Inc. (TSX:PAR) have approved the Plan of Arrangement transaction with Pluspetrol Resources Corporation N.V. Petro Andina will be removed from the S&P/TSX SmallCap and Equity SmallCap indices effective after the close of Thursday, November 5, 2009.

    The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) today announced that October was the most active month of trading during 2009 and the second-busiest ever in CFE history.Average daily volume during October 2009 was 8,548 contracts, a rise of 58 percent over 5,404 contracts per day during October 2008.When compared to 6,858 contracts per day traded during the previous month, average daily volume during October was up 25 percent.

  • OneChicago Reports October 2009 Volume, Up 2% From October 2008

    OneChicago, LLC today reported that 217,060 security futures contracts traded at the Exchange in September 2009, an increase of 2% from October 2008. Year to date volume stands at 2,212,019.

  • MGEX Reports Strong October Open Interest Growth - SRWI And HRSW Volume

    MGEX (Exchange) today reported a 34 percent increase in October 2009 open interest compared to the previous October. Month end futures and options open interest totaled 52,690 compared to 39,271 in the previous year. Hard Red Spring Wheat (HRSW) futures and options open interest increased 28 percent to 50,400 compared to 39,246 in October 2008.
