London Stock Exchange: Regal Petroleum Publicly Censured And Fined £600,000

The London Stock Exchange today issued a public censure and fine of £600,000 against Regal Petroleum plc ("Regal" or "the Company"). These sanctions were imposed by the AIM Disciplinary Committee for numerous, serious breaches of the AIM Rules in connection with its oil exploration wells in the Kallirachi Prospect, an area in the North Aegean Sea.

Shanghai Stock Exchange Announcement On Switching To New Trading System

After years of elaborate preparations and several tests on the whole market, the New Generation Trading System of the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) will be put into operation as a substitute for the existing one on November 23, 2009 upon approval by the China Securities Regulatory Commission. Systems directly connected to the SSE such as that of the securities companies will be simultaneously switched at that time.

In my remarks at that time, I described the extraordinary actions that policymakers around the globe were taking to address the crisis, and I expressed optimism that we had the tools necessary to stabilize the system.
