Preqin: Global Private Equity-Backed Deals At $26.6bn For Q1 2010 - Total Of 307 PE Backed Deals Announced In Q1 2010 - Dealflow Down Compared With Q4 2009, But Up On All Other Quarters Of 2009

Preqin’s quarterly dealflow data shows a total of 307 private equity deals announced in Q1 2010, with an aggregate value of $26.6bn. This represents a 35% decrease from Q4 2009, which saw 349 announcements with an aggregate value of $41.2bn. However, dealflow for Q1 2010 is stronger than the first three quarters of 2009, with the aggregate deal value double that of Q1 2009.

NYSE Euronext (NYX) today announced the appointment of Mark MacGann to the position of Senior Vice President, Head of European Government Affairs and Public Advocacy. Mr. MacGann will take office on 6 April and will be based in Brussels. He will report to John K. Halvey, General Counsel and Group Executive Vice President, NYSE Euronext.

Share Trading in March The value of average daily share trading amounted to EUR 2.5 billion, as compared to EUR 2.3 billion during the past 12-month period. The average number of trades per business day amounted to 258,843 as compared to 229,314 during the past 12-month period. The total market cap of listed companies at NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchange amounted to EUR 694 billion, compared to EUR 399 billion in March 2009.
