On 11 April 2000, Deutsche Börse became the first European stock exchange to start trading in exchange-traded index funds (ETFs) with its XTF segment. The segment has been growing on an ongoing basis ever since: with 651 listed ETFs of 14 providers, fund assets totaling €134.6 billion and an average monthly trading volume of €12.6 billion, Xetra is now by far the leading European trading venue for ETFs.

BME Creates A Fixed Income Electronic Trading Platform For Retail Investors - To Start On 10 May - It Will Be Called Sistema Electrónico De Negociación De Deuda (SEND)

Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) has created, through its Fixed Income Market (AIAF), an electronic trading platform for bonds geared to retails investors, which will start operations on May 10th under the name Sistema Electrónico de Negociación de Deuda (SEND). The new platform is a major step towards enhancing the transparency and liquidity of the Spanish Corporate Debt Market.

NYSE Euronext (NYX) today announced trading volumes for its global derivatives and cash equities exchanges for March 20101. Derivatives trading volumes in March 2010 recorded strong year-over-year growth, with European derivatives average daily volume ("ADV") increasing 13%, driven by a 25% increase in fixed income derivatives product average daily volume and U.S. options average daily volume increasing 39%. EEX Trading Results For Natural Gas And CO2 Emission Rights In March

In March, the trading volume on the EEX Spot Market for Natural Gas amounted to 902,593 MWh (GASPOOL and NCG market areas) compared to 292,970 MWh in March 2009. The volume included 432,523 MWh traded in the Within- Day Gas product which was launched on 1 March 2010. The Spot Market price for the day-ahead delivery of Natural Gas ranged between EUR 8.50 per MWh and EUR 14.70 per MWh.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) obtained more than $3.9 million in restitution and civil monetary penalties in a federal judgment order against CSA Trading Group, Inc. (CSA) and Michael Derrick Peninger, both of Charleston, S.C., in a CFTC anti-fraud action.
