BM&FBOVESPA announced yesterday (December 15, 2010) the start of a new selection process for depository institutions authorized to issue Unsponsored Level 1 BDRs (Brazilian Depositary Receipts). The winner will issue 10 BDR programs that represent stocks issued by publicly-traded companies with headquarters overseas. UK's Financial Services Authority Fines Scottish Equitable Plc £2.8m And Announces Redress Of £60m For Customers

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has fined Scottish Equitable Plc £2.8m for causing significant consumer detriment through poor administrative procedures. Scottish Equitable Plc will pay consumer redress of about £60 million, of which £30 million will have been paid by the end of the year

The MICEX Launches Trading In The CNY/RUR Currency Pair

Yesteday, the MICEX has held the formal ceremony of launching trading in the CNY/RUR currency pair. The MICEX is the first organized market for the yuan outside China. UK's Financial Services Authority: Managing Director Banned And Fined £750,000 For Mismarking

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has banned and fined Nabeel Naqui, the former Head of the Credit Products Group (CPG) Europe and Asia Pacific at Toronto Dominion Bank (Toronto Dominion), £750,000 for deliberately mismarking his trading positions and misleading fellow staff to conceal his losses over a period of two years.

Thai Bourse & BMA Boost Personal Financial Skill For Youth

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to increase the personal financial skills of over 270,000 students in all 436 BMA-supervised schools. This project, entitled the “Nguen–Tong–Kong–Mee–Ka” (“Personal Finance for Youth”) Program will start in the 2011 academic year.

The latest bond issue from RENA GmbH was offered to investors for subscription in the segment for small and medium-sized enterprises, Bondm, from 2 December. OTC Global Holdings Selects Orc Trader For Emissions Trading - Leading Independent Interdealer Broker Selects Orc For Its Entry Into European Markets.

Orc Software (SSE: ORC), the leading provider of technology and services for the global financial industry, today announced that OTC Europe LLP, the European arm of OTC Global Holdings, a leading independent interdealer broker in OTC commodities, has selected Orc Trader for its over-the-counter carbon options trading operations. The order was booked in Q4, 2010, and the contract is based on Orc’s licensing subscription model.
