    The Dow Jones-UBS Commodity Index was down -4.08% for the month of August. The Dow Jones-UBS Single Commodity Indexes for Cotton, Silver and Gold had the strongest gains with month-to-date returns of 7.75%, 5.61%, and 4.85%, respectively. The three most significant downside performing single commodity indexes were Natural Gas, Cocoa and Unleaded Gas, which were down -20.82%, -11.78%, and -11.35% respectively, in August.
