Shenzhen Stock Exchange's Simulation Trading System Goes Live
On August 21, the simulation trading system of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange was officially put into use, and the series of investor opening-day activities were launched. On the same day, about 30 investors from Guosen Securities business offices attended the ceremony for the launching of investor opening day and personally experienced the simulation trading system on the spot.

ISE Begins Publishing Monthly Quality Of Execution Reports
The International Securities Exchange (ISE) today announced that it is now publishing monthly execution quality reports that follow the guidelines set forth by The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). Developed by SIFMA's Equity Options Trading Committee in close cooperation with the U.S. options exchanges, the voluntary program provides a uniform structure for market quality and best execution metrics in the options industry.

Warsaw Stock Exchange: Record-High Trading On NewConnect - Weekly Trading Value On NewConnect Reached An All-Time High On 17-21 August '09 - PLN67.4m
The previous highest weekly turnover value on NewConnect, PLN50.1m, was recorded in April '08. Last week was also marked by the highest number of transactions on WSE's alternative market - 15,420.

August 2009 Monthly Preliminary Performance Report Dow Jones-UBS Commodity Indexes
The Dow Jones-UBS Commodity Index was up 0.88% for the month of August. The Dow Jones-UBS Single Commodity Indexes for Sugar, Copper and Nickel had the strongest gains with month-to-date returns of 17.36%, 9.73%, and 7.54%, respectively. The three most significant downside performing single commodity indexes were Wheat, Natural Gas and Lean Hogs, which were down -12.61%, -12.61%, and -11.22% respectively, in August.

Trading Started Today On The Tokyo Stock Exchange Of 5 Commodity ETFs

Oslo Børs: Harmonised Tick Sizes For European Marketplaces
Oslo Børs will introduce new tick sizes for the 25 shares that make up the OBX index with effect from Monday 31 August 2009. As previously announced, this is the result of the initiative taken by the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE) to simplify and harmonise tick sizes in European markets. Other stock exchanges and multilateral trading facilities (MTFs) have also committed themselves to use harmonised tick size tables.
