Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), issued the following statement in Brussels:
"As indicated by Presidents Van Rompuy and Barroso in their briefing earlier today, the decisions taken today by European Leaders at their summit meeting are an important contribution to helping address the crisis facing the euro zone and strengthening the global economic recovery.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite and Select Indices:
The shares of SkyWest Energy Corp. (TSXVN:SKW) will trade under the new name Marquee Energy Ltd. following the completion of a Plan of Arrangement. The new ticker symbol will be "MQL" and the new CUSIP number will be 57142R 10 9. There will be no change in the capitalization of the company at this time in either the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index or the S&P/TSX Venture Select Index. This change is effective after the close of trading on Thursday, December 8, 2011.

Heightened global risk perceptions in the aftermath of the financial crisis, fueled by sovereign credit risk in the developed world and political crises in the Middle East and North Africa, have increased investors’ concerns, according to a new report by the World Bank’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency. However, the report, World Investment and Political Risk, notes that investors are more optimistic over the medium term.

Russell Investments Makes Key Appointment For Index Business - Michael Gallucci Will Lead Russell Index Sales & Relationships For U.S. Structured Products And Sell Side Firms.

Russell Investments has appointed Michael Gallucci as regional director for U.S. structured products and sell side firms. Gallucci will focus on helping Russell Indexes build out its U.S. structured products and data redistribution business for sell side firms. For this new role, he will draw on Russell's core benchmark products in addition to new products and custom index capabilities. Gallucci joined Russell in late November, is based in the firm's New York office and reports to Mark Sutter, director of U.S. sales for Russell Indexes.
