As of February 23, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.80% in February, closing at 12105.78. Stock market indexes in Europe, Asia and globally were up in February, according to preliminary monthly figures from global index provider, Dow Jones Indexes.

SEC Charges Former Treasurer Of Major Mortgage Lender For Role In Securities Fraud And TARP Scheme
The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged the former treasurer of the one-time largest non-depository mortgage lender in the country with aiding and abetting a $1.5 billion securities fraud scheme and an attempt to scam the U.S. Treasury's Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP).

Based on the close of trading on February 22, the global Dow Jones Islamic Market Titans 100 Index, which measures the performance of 100 of the leading Shari’ah compliant stocks globally, gained 1.40% month-to-date, closing at 2326.40. In comparison, the Dow Jones Global Titans 50 Index, which measures the 50 biggest companies worldwide, posted a gain of 1.82%, closing at 185.87.

“Risky Business” - Statement Of CFTC Commissioner Chilton
I support the proposed interpretive order regarding disruptive trading practices that we are considering today. At the same time, I want to be clear that we need to do more than merely this order. We need explicit rules to address trading using advanced analytics. Cheetah traders (High Frequency Traders or HFTs) and algorithmic traders are relatively new to markets and deserve special consideration and action to ensure that they do not disrupt the fundamental purposes of futures markets.

ICE Futures Europe Sets Daily Volume And Brent Crude Futures Records
IntercontinentalExchange, a leading operator of global regulated futures exchanges, clearing houses and over-the-counter (OTC) markets, announced that ICE Futures Europe set an exchange-wide daily volume record of 1,626,277 contracts on 23 February. The new record surpassed by more than 9% the previous daily record of 1,429,384 contracts, which was established on 28 January 2011.

BM&FBOVESPA Breaks Co-Location Trading And Financial Volume Records In The Bovespa Segment For The Second Time This February
BM&FBOVESPA obtained on Wednesday (02/23) records of 53,910 trades and a BRL 380,470,000.00 trading volume in Direct Market Access (DMA) via co-location in the Bovespa segment (equities). The previous records were 49,074 trades and a volume of BRL 320,151,000.00, on Tuesday (02/22).

London Stock Exchange Group ("LSEG") today confirms that it is to build its pan-European derivatives business, through the creation of ‘Turquoise Derivatives'. This new business will combine with the Group's existing successful derivatives market, ‘EDX London' ("EDX"), and will utilise TMX Group's market leading derivatives trading technology, SOLA, already being used by EDX.
