    At its constituent meeting, the Members of new Exchange Council elected Peter Heydecker, Head of Origination Gas & Power at Vitol, as Chairman, as well as Pierre Chevalier, DB Energie, Dr. Michael Redanz, MVV, and Dr. Bernhard Walter, EnBW Trading, as Vice-Chairmen of the Exchange Council. Vincent van Lith, BHF Bank, was appointed representative of the Clearing Banks. The Council also decided on the following permanent guests: Nicolas Barbannaud, EDF Trading, Christian Triol, Compagnie Nationale du Rhône, and Prof. Jan-Horst Keppler, Université Paris-Dauphine, as academic counsel.

    On April 20, 2012, the Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. ("TOCOM" or the "Exchange") concluded an agreement with Nasdaq OMX. This agreement allows the Exchange to use the current trading system, of which license period expires in May 2014, for a maximum extended period of 5 years, or until May 2019.

    The European Commission today took an important step to protect foreign investors at the EU level, thereby ensuring that Europe continues to be a safe and attractive place for investment by foreign companies. Today's proposal establishes a legal and financial framework for "investor to state dispute settlement" as part of a broad investment policy which has become an exclusive EU competence under the Lisbon Treaty. It is a further step in the creation of a comprehensive EU investment policy which will allow the EU to negotiate investment protection agreements at the European level. Today's decision will ensure the EU has the right system in place so that international investment rules can be managed effectively in cases disputes arise between foreign investors and the EU and its Member States.
