AFME And ICMA Announce New Co-Operation Agreement
The Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) and the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will strengthen their co-operation on matters of mutual interest in European financial markets.

Shanghai Stock Exchange President Zhang Yujun: Indexation Investment Industry Needs More Efforts
"It is imperative to further boost the indexation investment at the proper time. We should consistently propel the indices and indexation investment," said President Zhang Yujun of the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) in his speech at the 5th Indices and Indexation Investment Forum held yesterday. He also added that the SSE would spare no efforts, together with the funds industry, to plan the long-term business development of passive investment.

Standard & Poor's: Italy Unsolicited Ratings Lowered To 'A/A-1' On Weaker Growth Prospects, Uncertain Policy Environment; Outlook Negative
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services today lowered its unsolicited long- and short-term sovereign credit ratings on the Republic of Italy to 'A/A-1' from 'A+/A-1+'. The outlook is negative. The transfer and convertibility assessment remains 'AAA', as it does for all members of the eurozone.

SIFMA Statement On SEC Proposal To Implement Rules Related To Conflicts Of Interest For ABS
Richard Dorfman, managing director and head of SIFMA’s Securitization Group, today released the following statement on the SEC’s proposal to implement rules related to conflicts of interest under Section 621 of the Dodd-Frank Act:
“SIFMA stands by the letter it issued in December 2010. The Commission should issue rules implementing Section 621 that do not create unnecessary or prohibitive restrictions on the asset-backed securitization (ABS) markets, such as restricting industry practices that are fundamental to the issuance of ABS, and that will not be detrimental to the healthy functioning of the securitization markets, which are an integral part of the United States capital markets.”
