James Odell Joins DTCC As First Deputy General Counsel
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) today announced that James E. Odell has joined the company as First Deputy General Counsel (Deputy GC). Odell brings more than 25 years of legal expertise in the financial services industry to this role, most recently with UBS Investment Bank. He reports to Larry E. Thompson, Managing Director and General Counsel.

CalPERS Invests $100 Million To Seed Hedge Fund
The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) has invested $100 million in seed money with Breton Hill Capital, a Toronto-based global macro hedge fund with investments in equities, commodity and financial futures, and currencies.

CFTC Charges National Accounting Firm Mcgladrey & Pullen, LLP, And Partner David Shane With Failure To Properly Audit One World Capital Group, A Former Registered Futures Commission Merchant - Firm To Pay $900,000 And Institute Remedial Measures, And Shane To Pay $100,000 Personally To Settle CFTC Action
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today filed and simultaneously settled an administrative proceeding against McGladrey & Pullen, LLP (McGladrey), a nationwide public accounting firm with offices in Chicago, Ill., and a McGladrey partner, David Shane, a certified public accountant (CPA) licensed in Illinois.

NYSE Euronext Announces Date For Third Quarter 2011 Earnings Release And Conference Call
NYSE Euronext (NYX) will announce earnings for the third quarter 2011 before the market opens on Thursday, November 3, 2011. SEC Charges Quant Manager With Fraud
The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged the co-founder of institutional money manager AXA Rosenberg with securities fraud for concealing a significant error in the computer code of the quantitative investment model that he developed and provided to the firm's entities for use in managing client assets.

ISE Price Improvement Mechanism (PIM) Now Accepts Tied-To-Stock Orders - Latest Enhancement Demonstrates Fast And Flexible Release Cycle Of Optimise
The International Securities Exchange (ISE) announced that multi-legged orders that include a stock component can now be entered into its Price Improvement Mechanism (PIM). ISE accepts multi-legged strategy orders of up to eight options legs plus a stock leg. These latest enhancements underscore the new OptimiseTM system’s capability to support a faster time-to-market for upgrades than ISE’s previous trading platform.
