VIX Index Options Set New Single-Day Volume Record - More Than 1.2 Million Contracts Traded

Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that CBOE Volatility Index options (VIX) established a new single-day volume record as a reported 1,221,403 VIX Index options contracts changed hands. Today's record exceeds the previous record of 1,169,892 contracts traded on August 5, 2011.

Andrew Bowden Named Deputy Director In The SEC’s Office Of Compliance Inspections And Examinations

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Andrew J. Bowden has been named Deputy Director of the agency’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE). He succeeds Norm Champ who was named in July to head the SEC’s Division of Investment Management.

ECB Extends The Swap Facility Agreement With The Bank Of England

The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) has decided, in agreement with the Bank of England, to extend the liquidity swap arrangement with the Bank of England up to 30 September 2013. The swap facility agreement established on 17 December 2010 had been authorised until the end of September 2011 and then extended until 28 September 2012.

Wales is the founder of Wikipedia and is a recognized leader in technology and free information. The award will be presented at the fifth annual Global Financial Leadership Conference in Naples, Florida on Tuesday, November 13.
