The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that its Office of Municipal Securities has issued interpretive guidance to address questions from market participants regarding the implementation of new final SEC rules requiring municipal advisors to register with the SEC.

The Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) on Friday made available the public portions of resolution plans for 116 institutions that submitted plans for the first time in December 2013, the latest group to file resolution plans with the agencies.

FESE response to the Commission consultation on crowdfunding, in summary:
- We agree with the benefits and opportunities of crowdfunding (securities type) as presented in the consultation document. However, crowdfunding cannot play a significant role in closing the financing gap faced by enterprises in Europe, especially in the absence of other significant actions targeted at reviving IPOs. Many of the benefits of an IPO are unique and will not be realised if IPOs continue to go down.

Clearstream’s December And Year 2013 Figures - Clearstream Closes 2013 With A Record EUR 12.0 Trillion In Assets Under Custody- 5 Percent More International Transactions And 7 Percent More Domestic Transactions In 2013 Compared To 2012 -Positive Trends Across All Business Areas Throughout 2013

In December 2013, the value of assets under custody held on behalf of customers registered an increase of 6 percent to a record EUR 12.0 trillion (compared to EUR 11.2 trillion in December 2012). Securities held under custody in Clearstream’s international business increased by 6 percent from EUR 5.9 trillion in December 2012 to EUR 6.3 trillion in December 2013 – while domestic German securities held under custody increased by 7 percent from EUR 5.3 trillion in December 2012 to EUR 5.7 trillion in December 2013.

MCX-SX Gets SEBI Approval To Launch IRF Segment - The New Segment To Go Llive’ In January

Following approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to introduce Interest Rate Futures (IRF), MCX Stock Exchange (MCX-SX) has decided to start ‘live’ trading in January, 2014 in its Currency Derivatives Segment. The regulatory approval to MCX-SX to launch the new segment follows the renewal of the Exchange’s recognition in September 2013.
