CBOE To Enhance VIX Index Methodology By Including SPX Weeklys Option Series

Chicago Board Options Exchange, Incorporated (CBOE®) announced today that starting on October 6, it plans to begin including SPX Weeklys^SM options series -- expiring every Friday, except the third Friday of each month -- in its CBOE Volatility Index®(VIX Index®) calculation.  CBOE CEO Edward Tilly made the announcement during his address to attendees at the CBOE Risk Management Conference Europe, currently taking place outside of Dublin.    

ECB Modifies Loan-Level Reporting Requirements For Some Asset-Backed Securities

The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) has decided to modify the loan-level reporting requirements for asset-backed securities (ABSs) backed by auto loans, leasing receivables, consumer finance loans and credit card receivables that are used as collateral in Eurosystem monetary policy operations and are unable to satisfy the timeline announced on 27 November 2012.

• ECB publishes final list of the 120 significant credit institutions it will directly supervise from 4 November
• The ECB will directly supervise credit institutions, financial holding companies or mixed financial holding companies that are deemed significant
• The assessment of significance is based on a variety of criteria including size and economic importance

IIROC names Andrew J. Kriegler As President And CEO

The Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) yesterday announced the appointment of Andrew J. Kriegler as the incoming IIROC President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kriegler will assume the position on November 1, 2014, and will also become a member of the IIROC Board of Directors at that time.
