  • Summary Of May 2014 Activities At Tokyo Commodity Exchange - TOCOM May 2014 Volume Averaged 73,882 Contracts Per Day, Down 0.2% Month-On-Month

    The Tokyo Commodity Exchange announced today that average daily tradingvolume for May was 73,882 contracts, down 0.2% from April. TOCOM’s leading commodities had lower volume: Gold was down 1.5% to 27,695 contracts and Rubber fell 7.9% to 9,483. This slightly outweighed an increase for products such as Platinum, which was up 9.2% to 17,424 contracts.

    Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, today issued the below statement following Senate confirmation of Sharon Bowen as Commissioner for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Bowen, the first African American woman to be appointed commissioner to the CFTC, will play a critical role in helping to lead efforts to implement the reforms contained in The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
