Global Systemically Important Banks: Updated Assessment Methodology And The Higher Loss Absorbency Requirement
The framework text sets out the Basel Committee's methodology for assessing and identifying global systemically important banks (G-SIBs). It also describes the additional loss absorbency requirements that will apply to G-SIBs, the phase-in arrangements for these requirements and the disclosures that banks above a certain size are required to make to enable the framework to operate on the basis of publically available information.

Dubai Financial Market Performance – June 2013
The Dubai Financial Market General Index down 6.1% to 2222.6 points at the end of June compared to 2366.8 points at the end of May. At the sectoral level, indexes of six out of the nine sectors represented on DFM ended the month in the red, with the Real Estate & Construction sector decreasing the most by 10.2%, followed by the Banking sector by 6.7%, and the Insurance sector by 6.4%. The Industrial sector up 3.3% while the Consumer Staples and the Telecommunication indices did not change during this month.

EU And Japan Join Forces To Tackle Data Explosion And Build 100Gbps Internet – 5000 Times Faster Than Today’s Average EU Speed
The European Commission and Japan today announce six research projects aiming at redefining internet architectures to increase the efficiency of networks in carrying data. One project aims to build networks 5000 times faster than today’s average European broadband speed (100Gbps compared to 19.7Mbps).

UK’s Financial Conduct Authority Fines Policy Administration Services Ltd £2.8 Million For Poor Complaints Handling Of Mobile Phone Insurance Policies Sold By Phones 4u Ltd
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has fined Policy Administration Services Limited (PAS) £2,834,700 for poor complaints handling between June 2009 and September 2011, including failing to identify the root causes of recurring issues and put them right.

European Power Exchange EPEX SPOT SE: Power Trading Results In June 2013 = Swiss Intraday Takes Off Quickly
In June 2013, a total volume of 28.4 TWh was traded on EPEX SPOT’s Day-Ahead and Intraday markets (June 2012: 28.6 TWh). The Swiss Intraday market, launched on 26 June 2013, has quickly gained traction amongst market participants. 16 of 28 Swiss market participants have already traded during the first five days.
