FIA Elects Directors And Officers
FIA today announced the election of board directors at its annual meeting in Boca Raton, Fla. Fifteen directors were elected in total at this meeting, including eight regular member directors for two-year terms; two regular member directors for one-year terms; four associate member directors for two-year terms; and one associate member director for a one-year term. Following the election, the new board elected the association’s officers and public directors.

At the end of the settlement date of February 28, 2014, short interest in 2,175 NASDAQ Global MarketSMsecurities totaled 7,272,486,663 shares compared with 7,264,979,104 shares in 2,175 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of February 14, 2014. The end-of-February short interest represents 3.99 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 3.52 days for the prior reporting period.

SIFMA Statement On Housing Finance Reform Proposal
IFMA today issued the following statement from Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr., SIFMA president and CEO, on the statement on the housing finance reform proposal issued today from Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Johnson (D-SD) and Ranking Member Mike Crapo (R-ID):

SEC Charges Animal Feed Company And Top Executives In China And U.S. With Accounting Fraud - U.S.-Based Audit Committee Chair Charged For Complicity In Scheme
The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged an animal feed company and top executives with conducting a massive accounting fraud in which they repeatedly reported fake revenues from their China operations in order to meet financial targets and prop up the stock price.

SGX To Launch Options On China A50 Futures
Singapore Exchange (SGX) aims to launch SGX FTSE China A50 Index options in the third quarter of 2014 to cater to the risk management needs of global investors, and in response to supportive industry feedback. Subject to final regulatory approval, the new contract will be listed as options on the SGX FTSE China A50 Index futures (SGX China A50 futures).

SEC Launches Enforcement Cooperation Initiative For Municipal Issuers And Underwriters
The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced a new cooperation initiative out of its Enforcement Division to encourage issuers and underwriters of municipal securities to self-report certain violations of the federal securities laws rather than wait for their violations to be detected.
