Thomson Reuters today released new research – Global 500 Greenhouse Gas Report: The Fossil Fuel Energy Sector – revealing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data from 32 global energy companies, a key subset of the world’s largest publically traded businesses. The report, written in collaboration with global sustainability consultancy BSD Consulting, is the second in a series of GHG reports designed to create transparency and enable sound management of global GHG emissions.

Benjamin M. Lawsky To Depart NYDFS After Four Years Serving As The Agency's First Superintendent

Benjamin M. Lawsky, Superintendent of Financial Services, announced today that he will depart the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) in late-June after four years serving as the newly created agency's first superintendent. Superintendent Lawsky was unanimously confirmed to his position by the New York State Senate in May 2011.

The guilty pleas of five major financial institutions – from the United States and overseas – are truly historic.   

The guilty plea to be entered by UBS results from the bank’s breach of its non-prosecution agreement with the department through additional criminal conduct.  Due to its breach, UBS will plead guilty to felony wire fraud for its LIBOR-related misconduct and pay a $203 million criminal penalty.
