Council Of The European Union - Long-Term Investment Funds: Council Confirms Agreement With European Parliament
The Permanent Representatives Committee approved, on behalf of the Council, a compromise agreed with the European Parliament on a regulation aimed at increasing the pool of capital available for long-term investment into the EU economy by creating a new form of fund vehicle (16386/14).

UK’s Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Publishes The Davis Review And The FCA Response
On 8 April 2014 the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Non-Executive Directors appointed Simon Davis of Clifford Chance to conduct an independent inquiry into the handling of the FCA’s announcement of proposed supervisory work on the fair treatment of long standing customers in life insurance.

AQX° Securities, the global, agency execution broker and pioneer in multi-asset CSA products, today announced that in 2014 it has signed on more than 40 new buy-side clients across Europe. Of those 40+ new clients, 10 have opted for AQX’s unbundled execution and research fee option available through Commission Sharing Agreements (CSAs). Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission Suspends Former Responsible Officer Of ICBCI Securities For Eight Months For Failures Related To IPO Shares Subscription
The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has suspended the licence of Mr Dick Ma Tor Fuk for eight months from 5 December 2014 to 4 August 2015 for failures in relation to his role in the initial public offering of Powerlong Real Estate Holdings Limited (Powerlong) in 2009.

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For Futures Contracts
Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Friday, 12 December 2014, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company’s normal procedures and standard margining methodology.
