Chinese consumer sentiment towards the car market improved in August as consumers turned more enthusiastic about car buying conditions and revised lower their expectations for fuel prices. Car ownership and plans to buy, though, weakened between July and August amid a deterioration in consumers’ household finances, adding a note of caution to the improvement of the headline Car Purchase Indicator.

ASIC: ING Bank Compensates Living Super Customers Due To Potentially Misleading Costs And Fees Statements

ING Bank (Australia) Limited, the promoter and investment manager of the ING Direct Superannuation Fund (Living Super), will compensate around 24,500 members approximately $5.38 million following ASIC concerns that statements made in its promotional material about the fees paid in connection with its Living Super product were potentially misleading.

- Securities daily average value (SDAV) fell 11% month on month and fell 37% year on year to S$936 million.
- Market turnover value of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) was S$207 million, down 25% month on month and down 33% year on year.
- There was 1 new Mainboard listing, raising S$195.1 million.
- There was 1 new Catalist listing, raising S$5.9 million.
- There were 36 new bond listings, raising S$10.9 billion.
- Total market capitalisation value of 767 listed companies stood at S$909.7 billion as at end August 2016.

CFTC Signs MOU With Two Mexican Authorities To Enhance Supervision Of Cross-Border Regulated Entities

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that CFTC Chairman Timothy Massad signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNBV) and the Banco de México (BDM) regarding cooperation and the exchange of information in the supervision and oversight of certain regulated entities that operate on a cross-border basis in the United States and in Mexico.
