DTCC And Coleg Cambria Collaborate On New Summer Academy Programme; Offer 10 Apprentice Roles

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the global financial services industry, today announced the launch of a new initiative with partner Coleg Cambria, one of the U.K.'s largest colleges, to support the recruitment of apprentices in the North East Wales area. The joint ‘Summer Academy Programme’ will run for a four-week period commencing July 19 through August 11, at which point ten successful candidates will join the 2016 ‘DTCC Europe Academy–Apprenticeship Programme’ starting in September.

EBA Finds No Significant Increase In Asset Encumbrance In 2015

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today its second analysis of the level of asset encumbrance across EU banking institutions. The report, which is part of a regular annual monitoring of asset encumbrance, aims to provide important elements for EU supervisors to assess the sustainability of banks' funding sources and their ability to withstand funding stress.

OCC Cleared Contract Volume Up 11 Percent In June - Second Highest June For Options Volume And Highest Month Ever For Futures Volume - Securities Lending CCP Activity Up 39 Percent In June And 45 Percent Year-To-Date

OCC, the world’s largest equity derivatives clearing organization, announced today that cleared contract volume in June reached 378,908,938 contracts, an 11 percent increase from the June 2015 volume of 340,826,276 contracts, marking the second highest June for OCC cleared options contracts. OCC’s year-to-date average daily cleared contract volume is up five percent from 2015 with 16,820,655 contracts. Cleared futures volume reached 11,350,745 contracts, making June the highest month ever for OCC cleared futures volume.

Such a benchmarking exercise is aimed at supporting supervisors and institutions in identifying the crucial elements that should be considered when designing credible governance arrangements and effective indicator frameworks. This is the third thematic comparative analysis the EBA has conducted in the area of recovery planning.
