MIAX Options - Reg SCI / SIFMA BCP Test Day Plan - October 15, 2016

As previously announced in a MIAX Alert published on September 12, 2016, the MIAX Options Exchange will be participating in the 2016 SIFMA BCP Testing this Saturday, October 15, 2016. All members that are required to test in accordance with Regulation Systems Compliance and Integrity (Regulation SCI) have been notified, however, all participants are encouraged to test.

Finansinspektionen Aims For Unchanged Countercyclical Buffer Rate In December

The next occasion on which Finansinspektionen (FI) will decide on the countercyclical buffer rate is in December. FI’s Board of Directors has decided that the preparatory work ahead of the next decision shall focus on maintaining the rate at its current level, which is currently 2 per cent.

CFTC Approves Proposed Rule On The Application Of Certain Swap Provisions Of The Commodity Exchange Act In Cross-Border Transactions

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (Commission) today voted unanimously to propose rules and interpretations addressing the application of certain swap provisions of the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) and Commission regulations to cross-border transactions (Proposed Rule). The proposal defines key terms for cross-border transactions and addresses the cross-border application of the registration thresholds and external business conduct standards for swap dealers and major swap participants. It also addresses whether and to what extent these thresholds and standards would apply to swap transactions that are arranged, negotiated, or executed using personnel located in the United States (ANE transactions). The unanimous vote was conducted via seriatim. The comment period ends 60 days after publication of the proposal in the Federal Register.

Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System welcomed publication of the Group of 7 (G-7) Fundamental Elements of Cybersecurity for the Financial Sector. The finance ministers and central bank governors of the G-7 countries today released the fundamental elements, which provide a concise set of principles on best practices in cybersecurity for public and private entities in the financial sector.
