Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission: Market Misconduct Tribunal Bans Andrew Left Of Citron Research From Trading Securities In Hong Kong

The Market Misconduct Tribunal (MMT) has ordered that Mr Andrew Left of Citron Research be banned from trading securities in Hong Kong for the maximum period of five years without the leave of the court after finding him culpable of disclosing false or misleading information inducing transactions under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO) in the publication of a research report on Evergrande Real Estate Group Limited (Evergrande) in June 2012.

HSBC Enables Clearstream Customers To Access China’s Bond Market - Helps Broaden Foreign Participation In The World’s Third Largest Bond Market

HSBC announced today a partnership with Clearstream to enable customers of the international central securities depository (ICSD) to access China’s Interbank Bond Market (CIBM). HSBC acts in the capacity of onshore bond settlement agent for Clearstream’s overseas institutional investor customers, providing trading execution, settlement and custody services in the CIBM.

Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission Reprimands And Fines Two JP Morgan Entities HK$5.6 Million For Regulatory Breaches

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has reprimanded J.P. Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Limited (JPMSAP) and JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association (JPMCB), and fined them $3 million and $2.6 million respectively for regulatory breaches including disclosure failures in research reports and offering offshore listed index options without the required licences.
