  • SEC: Wire And Cable Manufacturer Settles FCPA And Accounting Charges

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Kentucky-based General Cable Corporation agreed to pay more than $75 million to resolve parallel SEC and U.S. Department of Justice investigations related to its violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). The company agreed to pay an additional $6.5 million penalty to the SEC to settle separate accounting-related violations.

    In accordance with the article 3.3. of BIST-KYD Indices Ground Rules, periodic review for the BIST-KYD Corporate Eurobond Indices for the period January 2017 (January 2, 2017 – January 31, 2017) has been finalized. There is not any Eurobond to be included in or excluded from the BIST-KYD Corporate Eurobond USD and BIST-KYD Corporate Eurobond USD (TRY) Indices and they will continue to be calculated with the same list of constituents in the period January 2017.

    The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE), Mr. Nader Azar, said that the ASE price index weighted by free float shares increased to reach (2170.3) point at the end of 2016 compared with (2136.3) point by the end of 2015; an increase of (1.6%). The market capitalization of listed shares at the ASE decreased to JD (17.3) billion; a decrease of (3.8%), compared with year 2015 closing, constituting (65%) of the GDP.
