Thomson Reuters (TSX/NYSE: TRI) today reported results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2017. As already announced on January 30, 2018, the company achieved its full-year 2017 Outlook (as updated in August).

EFSF Board Of Directors Elects Harald Waiglein As New Chairman

The Board of Directors of the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) today elected Harald Waiglein as its Chairman. Mr Waiglein replaces Hans Vijlbrief, who served as Chairman of the Board since 2014 and was appointed President of the Eurogroup Working Group (EWG) on 22 January 2018.

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has today published its 2017 Annual Report and 2018 Work Programmesetting out its main supervisory activities for credit rating agencies (CRAs), trade repositories (TRs), and third country central counterparties (TC-CCPs) in the EU. ESMA supervises eight registered TRs, 26 registered CRAs and four certified CRAs from third-countries. The report also details ESMA’s supervisory activities and achievements in 2017.

The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) has published the first monthly relationship file that matches a Business Identifier Code (BIC) assigned to an organization against its Legal Entity Identifier (LEI). With the launch of this open source file, GLEIF and SWIFT have pioneered a cooperation model that, for the first time, enables market participants to link and cross-reference these key entity identifiers free of charge. This will significantly streamline entity verification processes and reduce data management costs.
