ETFGI Reports ETFs And ETPs Listed Globally Gathered Net Inflows Of US$12.38 Billion In February 2018, The Lowest Amount Since May 2016

ETFGI, a leading independent research and consultancy firm on trends in the global ETF/ETP ecosystem, reported today that ETFs and ETPs listed globally gathered US$12.38 Bn in net inflows, the lowest monthly amount since May 2016 when net inflows were US$10.53 Bn. YTD 2018 net inflows are at US$118.13 Bn. (All dollar values in USD unless otherwise noted.)

In 1903, the Italian inventor Marconi demonstrated his new invention, a wireless telegraph, to a large audience. It didn’t go too well for him, though. The machine itself did work in the sense that it transmitted a message. However, it was not the message the audience – or Marconi – had expected. The word “rats” was being sent again and again. The system had been hacked. The culprit in this case was Nevil Maskelyne, a magician. Allegedly, he had been hired by a British wired-telegraph company which was worried that Marconi’s invention might ruin its business.

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has issued a restriction notice to Interactive Brokers Hong Kong Limited (IBHK), prohibiting it from dealing with or processing certain assets held in a client account (the Client Account) which is related to suspected insider dealing in the shares of Bloomage BioTechnology Corporation Limited between 22 May and 15 June 2017.
