CME Group Prevails In Antitrust Case Brought By Eurex Subsidiary

CME Group today released the following statement regarding the dismissal of a 15-year old antitrust lawsuit filed by the United States Futures Exchange, the former U.S. subsidiary of Eurex: 

"We are extremely pleased to be vindicated from these baseless antitrust charges after litigating them for more than a decade.  USFE, which hasn't been in operation for years, by its own admission failed to attract customers and effectively compete in the U.S. market due to its own missteps – offering inferior liquidity on a substandard platform without any economic incentive for clients to trade its product.  With this long-running case now resolved, we continue to focus on providing the products and services that help global market participants effectively manage their risk and pursue opportunities."

MGEX Achieves An Increase In Total Monthly Exchange Volume

Barclays: John Mcfarlane To Retire As Chairman In May 2019 - Nigel Higgins Appointed To Succeed Him

Barclays announces that John McFarlane will retire as Chairman of Barclays in May 2019, and that Nigel Higgins has been appointed to succeed him, subject to regulatory approval by the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority.

MATBA And ROFEX Sign Merger Commitment

Representatives of MATba (Mercado Term of Buenos Aires S.A , the Buenos Aires Futures and Options Exchange) and ROFEX (Rosario Futures Exchange) are pleased to announce they have signed a merger agreement. The two exchanges met at the headquarters of MATba and committed to continue with the merger process, in order to operate as a single integrated exchange. In December, both exchanges will hold a special assembly where the merger will be submitted to the shareholders’ vote.
