FSB Launches Evaluation Of Too-Big-To-Fail Reforms And Invites Feedback From Stakeholders

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) is seeking feedback from stakeholders as part of its evaluation of the effects of the too-big-to-fail (TBTF) reforms for banks that were agreed by the G20 in the aftermath of the global financial crisis. The evaluation, which is being carried out by a working group chaired by Claudia Buch (Vice-President of the Deutsche Bundesbank), will assess whether the implemented reforms are reducing the systemic and moral hazard risks associated with systemically important banks (SIBs). It will also examine the broader effects of the reforms to address TBTF for SIBs on the overall functioning of the financial system. UK Financial Conduct Authority: Update On The Independent Investigation Into London Capital & Finance

HM Treasury (HMT) have today announced details of the independent investigation into London Capital & Finance (LC&F) to be commissioned by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). HMT has agreed to the appointment of Dame Elizabeth Gloster by the FCA to conduct the investigation.

The Board of Supervisors of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has today established a Coordination Network on Sustainability (CNS), and appointed Ana María Martínez-Pina Garcia, Vice-Chair of the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV, Spain) to chair the CNS for two years with immediate effect.

Recently, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) decided to circulate a notice on criticizing sponsoring representatives Wan Jiuqing and Mo Peng. The two sponsoring representatives were appointed by China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) to be specifically responsible for the project of Traffic Control Technology Co., Ltd. (TCT) applying for IPO on the sci-tech innovation board.

Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission: Futures Trader Tsoi Wan Convicted Of Market Manipulation

The Eastern Magistrates’ Court today convicted Mr Tsoi Wan of three charges of manipulating the calculated opening price (COP) of the Hang Seng Index (HSI) futures contracts in the futures market following a prosecution by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
