I want to apologise for my “no show” yesterday. It’s perhaps fitting, as I was required in Brexit talks with the opposition, that I had to negotiate a short extension with Charlotte and her team.

FIA President and CEO Walt Lukken today issued the following statement on the passing of Senator Richard Lugar:

“It’s difficult for me to articulate the influential impact that Senator Dick Lugar had on my life. He was a model of decency and compassion for all of us who worked for him. A member of the Futures Industry Hall of Fame, he and Sen. Patrick Leahy led the first subcommittee of the Senate Agriculture Committee that oversaw the CFTC shortly after its formation. He was part of every CFTC reauthorization for over 30 years and chaired the Agriculture Committee during the passage of the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000–the bipartisan legislation that implemented principles-based regulation and began an era of unmatched growth and innovation for exchange-traded derivatives."

The Amman Stock Exchange Receives Students Delegation

The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) received students delegation from Zarqa University/ Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences- Finance and Banking Sciences Department within a field visit to the Jordanian Capital Market's Institutions. This visit aimed to link the theoretical side with the practical one, where Dr. Malak Al- Jazzazi from Media and Communication Department briefed the students on the business nature of the ASE, the recent developments that the market witnessed and the future projects for the upcoming years. In the end of the visit the university gave a memorial shield to the ASE.

BME: MARF Registers A New Bond Issue By Photonsolar - With A Value Of 36.5 Million Euros And A Term Of 19 Years

The Mercado Alternativo de Renta Fija (MARF) today registered a new project bond issue by Photonsolar, a subsidiary company of Kobus Renewable Energy II FCR, with a total value of €36.5 million. The bonds have a nominal value per unit of 100,000 euros and will accrue a nominal coupon per annum of 3.75% of the nominal value at any time, payable on a quarterly basis. The issue has an amortizing structure with quarterly nominal reductions to 2038.

On 17 April 2019, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) adopted a Decision under Article 40 of Regulation (EU) No 600/2014 to renew the restriction on the marketing, distribution or sale of contracts for differences (CFDs) to retail clients. The Decision renews ESMA Decision (EU) 2018/796 on the same terms as the previous renewal decisions, ESMA Decision (EU) 2018/1636 and ESMA Decision (EU) 2019/155.
