  • EBA Recommends Maintaining Protection Of Depositors In Case Of A No-Deal Brexit

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today an Opinion relating to deposit protection issues stemming from the withdrawal of the UK from the EU. In this Opinion, the EBA calls on the Deposit Guarantee Schemes Designated Authorities (DGSDAs) to ensure that depositors in the branches of the UK credit institutions in the EU are adequately protected by the EU deposit guarantee schemes (DGSs), in case of a withdrawal of the UK from the EU with no ratified agreement in place. 

  • SIX Trading Key Figures: February 2019

    In February, trading turnover on the Swiss stock exchange was down -7.6% on the previous month and reached CHF 110.0 billion, equating to an average turnover of CHF 5.6 billion per trading day (ytd). There was also a decline in the number of transactions by -16.6% to 4,069,407. In comparison with the corresponding period last year, trading turnover was down by -7.9% at CHF 229.0 billion, while the number of trades dropped by -21.8% to 8,947,579.

  • Revised Lists Of The Moscow Exchange Indices Announced

    Moscow Exchange announced today the results of the quarterly review for MOEX indices. All changes will be implemented from 22 March 2018. The Exchange has also set free floats for a number of companies.

  • MiFID II: ESMA Publication Of The Annual Calculation Of The Large In Scale (LIS) And Size Specific To The Instruments (SSTI) Thresholds For Bonds Postponed To Later In March 2019

    The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has decided today to delay the publication of the annual calculation of the large in scale (LIS) and size specific to the instruments (SSTI) thresholds for bonds. This was due to the IT systems requiring more time than expected to complete the required calculations.

  • ETFGI Reports Assets Invested In ETFs And ETPs Listed In Latin America Rises To 9.5 Billion US Dollars In January 2019

    ETFGI, a leading independent research and consultancy firm covering trends in the global ETF/ETP ecosystem, reported today that ETFs and ETPs listed in Latin America saw net outflows of US$US$5.61 million in January, bringing year-to-date net outflows to US$5.61 million. Assets invested in the Latin American ETF/ETP industry finished the month up 12.42%, from US$8.44 billion at the end of December, to US$9.49 billion, according to ETFGI's January 2019 Latin American ETF and ETP industry landscape insights report, an annual paid-for research subscription service.
