Dr. Isalm Azzam, EGX Executive Chairman opened today’s trading session in the presence of Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel Elwazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry, and Transport; Dr. Rania Elmashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation; Eng. Hassan Elkhatib, Minister of Investment, and Foreign Trade; Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply, and Internal Trade; Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Chairman of Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA); Mr. Maged Shawky, Chairman of Egyptian Transport and Commercial Services Company (Egytrans); besides government leaders and top management of FRA, EGX, and Egytrans; along with a group of prominent economists and public figures. The event was to celebrate the official launch of the integrated group between “Egyptian Transport and Commercial Services Company (Egytrans), and the National Offshore & Shipping Company (NOSCO)”, following the acquisition of 99.9% of NOSCO shares by the former.

ING Appoints Maarten Koning Global Head Of Private Markets

ING has appointed Maarten Koning (48) global head of Private Markets, effective February 1, 2026. The newly established Private Markets business line will be a key growth area within ING Wholesale Banking. Private Markets include private equity and infrastructure sponsors as well as real asset managers of banks, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and other alternative capital providers on a global basis. Koning will be based in London. He will be part of the Global Sector Management Team, led by Mark Pieter de Boer, global head of Sectors and the Global Capital Markets and Advisory (CMA) Management Team, led by Horacio Martinez, global head of CMA.

ACER: Regulators Request More Time To Decide On The Minimum Activation Period Of Frequency Containment Reserves Providers

On 3 December 2025, the national regulatory authorities of the Continental Europe Synchronous Area submitted to ACER a joint request for a six-month extension to decide on the transmission system operators’ proposal. This concerns the minimum activation period that frequency containment reserve providers with limited energy reservoirs must ensure in order to remain available during the alert state.
