Total Volumes On The DGCX Hit 21.85 Million Contracts This Year, Valued At Over USD 400 Billion

Total volumes on the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX) this year stood at over 21.85 million contracts at the end of November, valued at more than USD 400 billion. This month (November), the DGCX traded 1.54 million contracts, and registered Average Open Interest (AOI) of 299,575 with the Exchange showing 15% growth in AOI in 2019.

S&P Dow Jones Indices Europe Dashboard

- The S&P Europe 350® rose this month, for once without any new stimulus from central banks. Instead, improving economic data triggered gains in both sovereign yields and pan-European equities.
- Nearly every European sector finished November in the green. Information Technology and Industrials led the way up; Utilities was the only sector to decline.
- Bond yields ticked up across the Eurozone, with all but one of our reported fixed income indices declining. Swiss sovereign bonds bucked the trend.

EBA Confirms Progress In Banks’ Balance-Sheet Repair But Points To A Bleak Outlook For Their Profitability

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today its annual Report on risks and vulnerabilities in the EU banking sector. The Report is accompanied by the publication of the 2019 EU-wide transparency exercise, which provides detailed information, in a comparable and accessible format, for 131 banks across the EU. Overall, EU banks’ solvency ratios remained stable, while the NPL ratio further contracted. Amidst low profitability, a proactive management of operating expenses is essential.

A total turnover of 1.161 billion shares worth N13.174 billion in 18,142 deals were traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange in contrast to a total of 1.416 billion shares valued at N17.249 billion that exchanged hands last week in 20,303 deals.

Warsaw Stock Exchange Group: GPW Benchmark Becomes Exchange Index Administrator

- GPW Benchmark will be the administrator of the exchange indices on the GPW Main Market, NewConnect and TBSP including WIG20, mWIG40 and sWIG80as of 1 December 2019 and the indices WIG-ESG and CEEplus as of 1 January 2020
- The transfer of the index administrator functions is required to ensure compliance with Regulation (EU) of the European Parliament and of the Council on indices used as benchmarks (BMR)
