PEGAS Trading Volumes In February 2019 - PEGAS TTF Spot Sets A New Monthly Volume Record In February

PEGAS, the pan-European gas trading platform operated by Powernext, established a new monthly record on its TTF spot market in February with 47.97 TWh eclipsing the previous high mark of 46.53 TWh set in January. The total volume traded in February amounted to 182.5 TWh on the PEGAS platform, including 120.8 TWh on the spot and 61.8 GWh on the futures segments, which represents an increase of 4% over last year (February 2018: 174.9 TWh).

BCBS/IOSCO Statement On The Final Implementation Phases Of The Margin Requirements For Non-Centrally Cleared Derivatives

Significant progress has been made to implement the framework for margin requirements for non-centrally-cleared derivatives. Based on monitoring of the implementation of the framework across products, jurisdictions and market participants, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) today provide the following guidance to support timely and smooth implementation of the framework and clarify its requirements.

UK Financial Conduct Authority Confirms Introduction Of Rent-To-Own Price Cap

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has today confirmed the introduction of a price cap to protect some of the most vulnerable customers in the UK in the rent-to-own (RTO) sector. The cap will be introduced from 1 April 2019 and will save consumers in the UK up to £22.7 million a year.

- In February 2019, the average daily number of trades was 24% higher than the pcp. The average daily value traded on-market of $5.0 billion was up 3% on the pcp.
- Volatility (as measured by the average daily movement in the All Ordinaries Index) was 0.4% in February down on the previous month 0.5%.
- Expected future volatility (as measured by the S&P/ASX 200 VIX) in February was an average of 12.6 (compared to 14.8 in January).

Distinguished Macroeconomist Martin Eichenbaum Appointed Monetary Authority Of Singapor Term Professor At National University Of Singapore

The National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) have jointly appointed Professor Martin Eichenbaum, a renowned macroeconomist, as the MAS Term Professor in Economics and Finance from 11 to 15 March 2019. Professor Eichenbaum will be hosted by the Department of Economics in the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Economic Policy Group at the MAS during the term of the Professorship.
