The Financial Services Agency holds the Council of Experts on the Stewardship Code (2019) (the “Council”).
The Council shall be open to the public in principle. However, due to capacity of the room, people who want to listen to the Council (excluding the press) need to apply in advance (First-come-first-serve basis). Please see “4. Japan Exchange Group, Inc. (the "Tender Offeror") resolved, at the meeting of the Board of Directors held on July 30, 2019, to acquire the shares of common stock (the "Target Company's Common Stock") and nonvoting stock (the "Target Company's Non-Voting Stock") of Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. (the "Target Company") (hereinafter, the "Target Company's Common Stock" and the "Target Company's Non-Voting Stock" shall be collectively referred to as the "Target Company's Stock") through a tender offer (the "Tender Offer") under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (Act No. 25 of 1948, as amended; hereinafter referred to as the "Act"), and commenced the Tender Offer on August 1, 2019. The Tender Offeror hereby announces that the Tender Offer was completed on September 24, 2019, as described below.

Securities Commission Malaysia Registers First Property Crowdfunding Operator

The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) today announced that it has registered EdgeProp Sdn Bhd (EdgeProp) as the first Recognised Market Operator to establish and operate a property crowdfunding (PCF) platform in Malaysia, following the revision of the SC’s Guidelines on Recognised Markets in May 2019. EdgeProp was granted an approval in principle in September 2019.

Dr Zhou Xiaochuan, President, China Society for Finance and Banking and Former Governor, People’s Bank of China, spoke at the 10th MAS Lecture on 19 September 2019. Dr Zhou’s lecture topic was titled, “FinTech development and its interaction with policy making”. He discussed how China addressed the challenges and opportunities facing its financial sector as it became increasingly digitalised. Dr Zhou also addressed the key issues and challenges posed to monetary policy and financial stability by the emergence of digital currencies.

At the end of the settlement date of September 13, 2019, short interest in 2,367 Nasdaq Global MarketSM securities totaled 8,289,152,727 shares compared with 8,308,462,471 shares in 2,370 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of August 30, 2019. The mid-September short interest represents 5.18 compared with 4.66 days for the prior reporting period.
