Europex Response To Commission Consultation On The Review Of The MiFID II/MiFIR Regulatory Framework

Europex fully supports the underlying policy objectives of MiFID II / MiFIR and the G-20 Pittsburgh commitments to “improve the functioning and transparency of financial and commodity markets and address excessive commodity price volatility”. However, more than two years after the MiFID II / MiFIR framework started to apply, we believe that these objectives have not yet fully materialised as far as commodity derivatives markets are concerned, notwithstanding the heavy burden already imposed on the industry.

Blackfinch Group has launched Blackfinch Asset Management, offering adviser firms expanded capabilities and increased support. The new division will replace Blackfinch Wealth and house Blackfinch’s managed portfolio service (MPS), formerly known as the Blackfinch Wealth MPS. The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, notes the non-renewal of the emergency restrictions on short selling and similar transactions by the following national competent authorities (NCAs): Finanzmarktaufsicht (FMA) of Austria; Financial Securities and Markets Authority (FSMA) of Belgium; Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) of France; Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) of Greece; and Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) of Spain.

VC Deal Volume In APAC Recovered In March 2020, But Big Ticket Deals Mostly Non-Existent, Finds GlobalData

Venture capital (VC) investment activity in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region showcased some signs of recovery during the end of COVID-19 hit first quarter (Q1) of 2020. However, big ticket deals remained mostly non-existent with low value deals (investment <=US$10m) continuing to account for the majority of the VC investment volume during the quarter, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
