Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer: Farmer Sentiment Rebounds Amidst Ongoing COVID-19 Concerns

Farmer sentiment improved in June for the second month in a row, rebounding from sharp declines that took place in both March and April, according to the Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer. The index was up 14 points from May to a reading of 117. The Ag Economy Barometer is based on responses from 400 U.S. agricultural producers with this month's survey conducted from June 22-26, 2020.

Trading Technologies Contracts With BGC Partners For Global Implementation Of TT® OMS

Trading Technologies International, Inc. (TT), a global provider of high-performance professional trading software, infrastructure and data solutions, today announced they have signed up BGC Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: BGCP) (BGC), a leading global brokerage and financial technology company, to utilize TT’s new Order Management System (OMS) solution when it is launched in September 2020. The arrangement will extend BGC’s usage of the TT execution management system (EMS) and for the first time make TT’s full-featured, full-service OMS product available to all BGC brokers worldwide. As a result, BGC’s brokers will use all the TT OMS advanced order handling and post-trade allocation features to optimize their order executions and reporting.

- Market capitalisation was $37.9 trillion at the end of June 2020, an increase of 11 per cent from $34.0 trillion at the end of May 2020, and an increase of 16 per cent from $32.7 trillion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover in June 2020 was $125.6 billion, an increase of 10 per cent when compared with $114.7 billion in May 2020, and an increase of 52 per cent from $82.4 billion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover for the first six months of 2020 was $117.5 billion, an increase of 20 per cent when compared with $97.9 billion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover of CBBCs for the first six months of 2020 was $9.6 billion, an increase of 4 per cent when compared with $9.2 billion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover of ETFs for the first six months of 2020 was $5.3 billion, an increase of 8 per cent when compared with $4.9 billion for the same period last year.
- Funds raised through IPOs for the first six months of 2020 was $87.5 billion, an increase of 22 per cent when compared with $71.8 billion for the same period last year.
- Total funds raised for the first six months of 2020 was $225.8 billion, an increase of 51 per cent when compared with $149.2 billion for the same period last year.
