  • FSB: Virtual Workshop On The Evaluation Of Too-Big-To-Fail Reforms

    On 4 September the FSB hosted a virtual workshop as part of the consultation process for its evaluation of the too-big-to-fail reforms. The virtual workshop included presentations and discussions by a range of academic, regulatory, non-governmental organisation and industry stakeholders on the analysis and findings of the evaluation. The workshop and other feedback to the consultation will provide input to the final evaluation to be published in early 2021.

  • ESMA: Investors See Lower Net Returns From Potential Closet Index Funds

    The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU securities markets regulator, today publishes a Working Paper on Closet Indexing Indicators and Investor Outcomes.  The study finds that investors can expect lower net returns from closet indexers than from a genuinely actively managed fund portfolio. A summary of this study was also included in the Trends, Risks and Vulnerabilities report published on 2 September.

  • EBS eFix Matching To Adopt MOEX FX Fixings

    Moscow Exchange has authorised the use of its MOEX USD/RUB 12:30 FX fixing and МОЕХ EUR/RUB 12:30 FX fixing by CME Group’s EBS eFix Matching Service platform. This will promote the MOEX FX fixings among a wider range of international banks and their clients on the global market and strengthen their status as the main global FX benchmarks for the Russian ruble.

  • SET And Alliances Initiate Care The Wild “Plant & Protect” Platform In Compliance With Good Governance Practice

    The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), jointly with all alliances, today launches its Care the Wild “Plant & Protect” project to fight against climate change and environmental issues. The project is aimed to increase forest areas and monitor the plant growth through Care the Wild application in compliance with good governance principles regarding information disclosure to monitor, learn, and nurture. This environmental initiative aims to build a balanced ecosystem in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals implementation. SET has set a one-year target to complete 500 rai of trees planting to reduce greenhouse gas emission by 900,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalents per year.
