  • EBA Notes That Resolution Colleges Have Adjusted To A Virtual Set-Up In 2020

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today its Annual Report on resolution colleges for 2020. The Report sets out the EBA’s observations on the functioning of colleges during the year and the progress achieved in key areas of resolution planning. The Report reflects on the effects of moving to a virtual format of discussion on foot of the pandemic, and notes that the enforced change was broadly successful and reflected well on contingency planning measures. However, it also highlights areas for improvement to ensure that information exchange and coordination between members remains robust.

(NYSE: ICE), a leading global provider of data, technology and market infrastructure, today announced that the industry’s leading solution for mortgage lenders and correspondent investors released additional enhancements to the Encompass® platform. The Encompass 21.2 release supports the recently updated General Qualified Mortgage (QM) final rule enabling lenders to seamlessly calculate eligibility for QM loans using the new price-based thresholds which government sponsored enterprises (GSE) will require in order to sell loans to the secondary market.

    ETFs are increasingly becoming the incumbent in the global passive investment industry. In June 2021, global assets under management in index-tracking ETFs hit their new record of USD 8.66tn, which is merely USD 132bn short of assets in passive mutual funds. Building on the success of ETFs, CI Global Asset Management, a subsidiary of Toronto-based CI Financial Corp. (TSX: CIX, NYSE: CIXX), has licensed four Solactive indices to provide its clients three plain vanilla benchmark ETFs, including a broad Canada ETF, and two ETFs tracking the largest 500 and 1000 US companies, respectively.
