Call To Action On COVID Vaccine Access For Developing Countries By Heads Of World Bank Group And International Monetary Fund

David Malpass, President of the World Bank Group, and Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, today issued the following joint statement to the G7 concerning access to COVID vaccines for developing countries:

“The coronavirus pandemic will not end until everyone has access to vaccines, including people in developing countries. Worldwide access to vaccines offers the best hope for stopping the coronavirus pandemic, saving lives, and securing a broad-based economic recovery."

• The Power Spot markets, operated by EPEX Spot, increased by 3% in May 2021 to a total volume of 52.7 TWh (May 2020: 51.2 TWh). The Intraday markets mainly contributed to these results, registering a 27% growth to 10.6 TWh (May 2020: 8.4 TWh) and posting new records on the Austrian (416.8 GWh) and Dutch (471.6 GWh) markets.

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today an update to its Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) on benchmarking of internal approaches. The updated ITS include all benchmarking portfolios and metrics that will be used for the 2022 exercise.
