Bank Of England Statement On The European Commission Equivalence Decision On The UK’s Legal And Supervisory Framework For Central Counterparties

The Bank of England welcomes the extension of EU equivalence for the UK’s legal and supervisory framework for central counterparties (CCPs). The European Commission’s announcement today supports financial stability and the sound functioning of financial markets in both the UK and the EU. We will continue to co-operate closely with the European Securities and Markets Authority on the process of extending the existing recognition of UK CCPs.

US Federal Bank Regulatory Agencies Announce Second Public Outreach Meeting As Part Of Their Review Of Regulations

Federal bank regulatory agencies will hold a virtual public outreach meeting on March 6, 2025, as part of their review of regulations, as required by law. The Economic Growth and Regulatory Paperwork Reduction Act (EGRPRA) requires the agencies, with input from the public, to review their regulations at least once every 10 years to identify any outdated or otherwise unnecessary regulatory requirements applicable to their supervised institutions.

A total turnover of 3.245 billion shares worth N69.198 billion in 77,270 deals was traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange, in contrast to a total of 3.132 billion shares valued at N76.552 billion that exchanged hands last week in 61,456 deals.

MIAX Options Exchange February 1, 2025 Fee Changes

Effective February 1, 2025, pending filing with the SEC, MIAX Options Exchange will amend the fee schedule as follows:
- Removal of SPIKES options Fees and Rebates; Expiration of the SPIKES Options Market Maker Incentive Program
- All SPIKES options fees and rebates will be removed from the MIAX Options Fee Schedule under section 1)b) and replaced with “Reserved”
- The SPIKES Option Market Maker Incentive Program expires on January 31, 2025, and will not be renewed
- All SPIKES options expired on January 22, 2025, and the Exchange will not list additional SPIKES options expirations
- Removal of SPIKES options Fees and Rebates; Expiration of the SPIKES Options Market Maker Incentive Program
