Finansinspektionen Leaves The Countercyclical Buffer Rate Unchanged

In accordance with its assessment in the most recent stability report, FI is leaving the countercyclical buffer rate unchanged. The buffer rate of 0 per cent, which was applied starting on 16 March 2020, shall thus continue to apply. The countercyclical buffer guide is set at 0 per cent.

The Securities and Exchange Commission today proposed amendments to Rule 10b5-1 under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to enhance disclosure requirements and investor protections against insider trading. The proposal includes updates to Rule 10b5-1(c), which provides an affirmative defense to insider trading for parties that frequently have access to material nonpublic information, including corporate officers, directors and issuers.

ESMA Publishes Report On Expected Credit Loss Disclosures Of Banks

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, has today published its Report on the application of the IFRS 7 Financial Instruments: Disclosures (IFRS 7) and IFRS 9 Financial Instruments (impairment requirements) (IFRS 9) requirements regarding banks’ expected credit losses (ECL). ESMA has identified room for improvement in the level of compliance, comparability and transparency in the application of the relevant IFRS requirements.

EEX Publishes 2022 Auction Calendar For EUAA auctions And EUA Auctions For The United Kingdom In Respect Of Northern Ireland

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has published the 2022 calendars for the auctions of EU Aviation Allowances (EUAA) for the EU Member States as well as for the auctioning of EU Emission Allowances (EUA) for the UK in respect of generation of electricity in Northern Ireland for the single wholesale electricity market in Ireland and Northern Ireland. This has been coordinated with the European Commission, the EU Member States and the EEA EFTA states participating in the common auction platform (CAP3) as well as with the competent authorities of Germany and Poland, as well as with UK authorities.

Erik Thedéen Appointed Vice Chair Of ESMA

The Board of Supervisors of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has appointed Erik Thedéen as its Vice Chair. Mr Thedéen, who is the Director General of the Swedish Finansinspektionen (FI), will serve a 2½ year term effective immediately.
