BIS: Risk Data Aggregation And Risk Reporting – Executive Summary

The 2007–09 Great Financial Crisis exposed severe deficiencies in the management information systems (MIS) of many of the major global banks. Certain banks took entire days, or longer, to aggregate their exposures to single counterparties. In practice, such information was needed during the crisis several times a day for multiple counterparties. Even during non-crisis episodes, such information is needed for management to make sound business decisions and for supervisors to effectively protect the safety and soundness of the financial system. The crisis therefore served as a "wake-up call" for the banking industry and the regulatory community and highlighted the need to overhaul the risk data aggregation capabilities and risk reporting practices of banks.

SEC: San Francisco Regional Director Erin E. Schneider To Leave Agency

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Erin E. Schneider, the Director of the San Francisco Regional Office since 2019, is leaving the agency after more than 17 years of service. Monique C. Winkler will become the office’s Acting Regional Director when Ms. Schneider departs at the end of this month.

This includes a new timeline, expectations about the explicit quantification of the product disclosures under Article 5 and 6 of the Taxonomy Regulation, and the use of estimates.

The Federal Reserve Board announced on Friday that it will extend until May 5, 2022, the comment period for its proposal to implement a framework for the supervision of certain insurance organizations overseen by the Board. The Board extended the comment period to allow parties additional time to prepare comments. Originally, comments were due by April 5, 2022.
