  • SEC Statement On Jury’s Verdict In Trial Of Tytus W. Harkins, Gurbir S. Grewal, Director, Division Of Enforcement, April 14, 2022

    Today, after a seven-day trial, a jury serving in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado ruled in favor of the SEC against Tytus W. Harkins for making false and misleading statements to investors in his company, Hartman Wright Group, LLC. The trial team included Nicholas Heinke, Terry Miller, and Matthew Skidmore.


  • CFTC Charges Tennessee Trader And Two Entities With Engaging In Cross-Market And Single-Market Spoofing And Manipulative Schemes

    The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today filed a civil enforcement action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against David Skudder, Global Ag LLC, and Nesvick Trading Group LLC for spoofing—bidding or offering with the intent to cancel the bid or offer before execution—and for the use of manipulative schemes. The schemes involved both soybean futures contracts and options on soybean futures contracts traded on the Chicago Board of Trade. Some of their misconduct involved cross-market spoofing—i.e., spoofing in one market to benefit a position in another market, where the price of the two markets is correlated. Skudder is a founder, principal, and registered associated person of Global, a registered commodity trading advisor. Skudder is also a registered associated person of Nesvick, a registered introducing broker.  

  • Canadian Securities Regulators Seek Input On Disclosure Standards For Mineral Projects

    Staff of the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) are publishing CSA Consultation Paper 43-401 Consultation on National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects seeking comments on Canada’s standards for disclosing scientific and technical information about mineral projects, as we consider ways to update and enhance those requirements.

  • SIFMA Supports Accelerating The Settlement Cycle To T+1

    In a comment letter on the SEC’s proposal to shorten the securities transaction settlement cycle from the current trade date plus 2 days (T+2) to trade date plus one day (T+1), SIFMA highlights the benefits of the change, including overall risk reduction, capital optimization, and improvements in post-trade processing efficiency.  SIFMA also notes the proposal reflects many of the recommendations included in the report, “Accelerating the U.S. Securities Settlement Cycle to T+1,” which SIFMA drafted in partnership with the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the Investment Company Institute (ICI), and Deloitte & Touche LLP in December 2021.

  • ETFGI Reports Global ETFs Industry Gathered US$123.35 Billion In Net Inflows In March 2022

At the end of the month, assets invested globally in the ETFs industry increased by 2.7%, from US$9.82 trillion at the end of February to US$10.08 trillion, according to ETFGI's March 2022 global ETFs and ETPs industry landscape insights report, the monthly report which is part of an annual paid-for research subscription service.
