  • Qatar Stock Exchange: The Profits Of Listed Companies Amounted To QR 13.61 Billion In Q1 2022

    All companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange disclosed their financial results for the period ending on March 31, 2022. The value of their net profits for that period amounted to 13.61 billion Qatari riyals, compared to 10.72 billion Qatari riyals for the same period last year 2021, with an increase of approximately 26.43%.

    Commodity Futures Trading Commission Commissioner Caroline D. Pham today released the following statement regarding charges against Archegos Capital Management:

    “Yesterday the CFTC charged Archegos Capital Management and three of its employees with engaging in a scheme to defraud its swap counterparties in violation of the Commodity Exchange Act and CFTC rules—a scheme that resulted in more than $10 billion dollars in losses.  I commend the efforts of the Division of Enforcement staff in prosecuting misconduct that undermines the integrity of the derivatives markets.”

    The International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) Core Principles for Effective Deposit Insurance Systems are intended for jurisdictions that wish to establish or enhance their deposit insurance systems. The Core Principles (CPs) were originally published in 2009. In 2014, IADI issued the Revised Core Principles for Effective Deposit Insurance Systems in response to the lessons learnt from the 2007-09 Great Financial Crisis.
