Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad or (“Bursa Malaysia Derivatives”), the Shanghai Futures Exchange (“SHFE”) and the Shanghai International Energy Exchange (“INE”) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) with the intent to strengthen existing business partnership. The MoU will commit the named Exchanges to share information and best practices pertaining to product development, market operations, and in the areas of common interest for all three markets.

Banque de France Governor Inaugurates Asia-Pacific Representative Office In Singapore

The Banque de France today officially inaugurated its Asia-Pacific Representative Office in Singapore, which opened in 2020. Governor François Villeroy de Galhau of the Banque de France officiated the event, which was attended by the Ambassador of France to Singapore, and senior officials from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), foreign central banks and French financial institutions. Banque de France’s office in Singapore is its second overseas office, following the opening of a Representative Office in New York office in 2010.

Today, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo spoke with Ukraine Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko to discuss U.S. economic assistance for Ukraine and international efforts to hold Russia accountable for its unjustified and unprovoked war on Ukraine.  Deputy Secretary Adeyemo reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to Ukraine and discussed international economic assistance provided by donor countries, including the recent additional contribution from the United States to Ukraine of $1.7 billion in direct budgetary support.  Deputy Secretary Adeyemo reiterated that the U.S. Treasury continues to use its sanctions authorities to degrade Russia’s ability to wage its war in Ukraine and threaten its neighbors.  Deputy Secretary Adeyemo and Minister Marchenko also discussed progress made toward implementing a price cap on Russian oil to restrict revenue for Russia’s military while dampening the impact of Putin’s war on global oil and energy prices.
