Qatar Stock Exchange And Qatar Development Bank Launch A Financial Program To Encourage SMEs To Be Listed On The Venture Market

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and Qatar Development Bank (QDB) have announced a joint collaboration to facilitate the listing of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) on QSE’s Venture Market (QEVM). The two organizations will cooperate to launch a new financing program to assist SMEs in their growth through covering the costs required for listing on QEVM and to meet the funding requirements of SMEs, which will promote their growth, development, and organizational flexibility.

ACER And ESMA Update Memorandum Of Understanding To Strengthen Cooperation

The EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) have signed an updated Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which strengthens collaboration between the two institutions. The MoU notably incorporates new cooperation areas under the Market Correction Mechanism (MCM) Regulation and benchmarks related to the energy sector. It also details the role of the recently established ACER–ESMA Task Force.

- The average daily turnover for the first two months of 2023 was $128.6 billion, a decrease of 1 per cent when compared with $129.4 billion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover of ETFs for the first two months of 2023 was $13.0 billion, an increase of 71 per cent when compared with $7.6 billion for the same period last year.
- The average daily turnover of L&I Products for the first two months of 2023 was $2.4 billion, an increase of 85 per cent when compared with $1.3 billion for the same period last year.
- There were 10 newly listed companies for the first two months of 2023, with 7 for the same period last year.

UAE Securities And Commodities Authority Organizes Training Course For FMLEC Members

Putting into effect the memorandum of cooperation entered into between the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) and the Economic Security Center of Dubai (ESCD), the First Training Course on Capital Market Development was concluded at the SCA’s Dubai branch. The course, which is the first collaborative initiative between the SCA and the ESCD, was attended by members of the Financial Markets Law Enforcement Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (FMLEC) and opened in the presence of H.E. Dr. Maryam Al Suwaidi, CEO of SCA, and H.E. Faisal Yousuf bin Selaitin, Deputy Chairman of SCA and Executive Director of ESCD.
