HKEX Welcomes Further Expansion Of Stock Connect

• Eligible shares of international companies that are primary-listed in Hong Kong to be included in Southbound trading
• Scope of eligible stocks for Southbound trading under Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect will be expanded to align with Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect
• Constituent stocks of the SSE A Share Index and the SZSE Composite Index that meet certain requirements such as liquidity and market capitalisation criteria will be eligible for Northbound trading

ESMA Issues Positive Opinion On Amended RTS 1 And 2

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s financial markets regulator and supervisor, has today issued a positive Opinion  on the European Commission’s (EC) review of the regulatory technical standards – RTS 1 equity and RTS 2 non-equity transparency – on pre-trade and post-trade transparency requirements under the Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR).

The total value of transactions during the month in review reached €4,14 million, with an average of €0,19 million per trading session. The Financials sector contributed 69,78% to the total value traded which was the highest among all other sectors. Investors primarily focused their interest on the shares of “Bank of Cyprus Holdings Plc” and also on shares of “Hellenic Bank Public Company Ltd” with 48,32% and 15,49% of the total value respectively.

The CEO of the ASE, Mr. Mazen Wathaifi, received at the Exchange's headquarters on Thursday 15/12/2022 a delegation from the Palestine Exchange (PEX) represented by Mr. Samir Hulileh, Chairman of the Board, and Board Member Mr. Zeyad Barghouthy, General Manager Mr. Nihad Kamal and Mrs. Zakia Hanani   Senior Business Management, in order to enhance cooperation and relations, and in the presence of Mr. Bassam Abu Abbas, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Dr. Malak Al-Jazazi from the Communication and Media Department at the ASE. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance communication, joint cooperation and exchange of experiences between the ASE and the PEX, which comes as an embodiment of the close brotherly ties between the State of Palestine and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The CEO of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) Mr. Mazen Wathaifi, received the Counselors at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr. Olgaz Raev and Mr. Rustam Jumatov, on Thursday 15/12/2022, to discuss ways to enhance communication and joint cooperation and enhance bilateral investment and economic relations between the two countries in general and between the ASE and the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) in particular.

Monetary Authority Of Singapore: Court Convicts Kenneth Goh Jia Poh For Multiple Offences Under The Securities And Futures Act

Mr Goh Jia Poh, Kenneth was today convicted and sentenced to 19 months’ imprisonment and fined $355,604 for multiple offences relating to false trading, unauthorised use of trading accounts and fraudulently inducing others to deal in shares, under the Securities and Futures Act (SFA).
