  • The Stock Exchange Of Hong Kong Held A Conference On Capital Formation In Taiwan For Growth Enterprises

    Over 500 delegates from Taiwanese companies and financial sector attended a conference on growth enterprises held at the Taipei International Convention Centre today (Friday). The conference, Capital Formation for Growth Enterprises, was organised by the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in collaboration with Taiwan Business Association (HK) Ltd and Taiwan Business Weekly Magazine.

  • Program Trading Averaged 16.6 Percent Of NYSE Volume During Nov. 22-26

    The New York Stock Exchange yesterday released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Nov. 22-26. The data indicated that during Nov. 22-26, program trading amounted to 16.6 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 712.2 million shares, or 118.6 million shares a day.

    November was an unusually good month on world stockmarkets. With IT shares in the driving seat, historical records were set at several US and European bourses. In Norway too IT shares were all the rage. Our IT index climbed 26.2 per cent to reach a new historical peak while the all-share index rose 7.3 per cent. So far this year the IT index has risen 63 per cent, inspired by the popularity of IT shares on US and Nordic stockmarkets.
